Richard (Rick) J. Lara, President and Owner, established Classic Industries, Inc. in 1994 and have been in business for over 13 years. Richard (Rick) has a wealth of knowledge in construction and over 30 years of personal experience. His understanding and appreciation for contracting have come from several years of formal education as well as on-the-job-training and has earned him top honors this year (2008) as SBA Region VI Contractor of the Year as well as National Prime Contractor of the Year. Among the many praises and appreciations; in July of 2007, CII and Richard received an “Outstanding Service Award” from the NM Army National Guard 515th Regiment for the successful completion of the Stallion Base Camp Weapons Ranges in “contribution to the National Security and significantly aided in the protection of liberty and freedom”. In December 2005, CII and Rick were given an “Award of Recognition & Appreciation” for its “kindness, dedication, and generous contribution” to the Anthony Public Health Office Remodeling Project.

CII was certified through the Small Business Administration in March 2000 as a Small Disadvantage 8(a) business. CII has fulfilled over 60 U. S. Government Department of Defense construction contracts with the US Army, US Corps of Engineers, US Navy, US Fish & Wildlife Service, US Air Force, and city/county/state funded projects in New Mexico.
